When people view my art, they often ask,” what is the “meaning “of the painting. My usual response is, “more importantly, “what does it mean to you? “ Is it the colors, the content, texture, or a “relatability “ that the image evokes? It may seem rude to answer a question with a question, but it is the essence of what drives a person to want to take a piece of art home with them.

During my younger years, I worked as an educator, stockbroker, entrepreneur, and a hotel and bar owner. I was a busy man raising a family and didn’t awaken to the fact I could paint until I retired in my sixties, now over fifteen years ago. Encouraged by my wife, Janet, my second act began.

I paint the images that appear in my head. Having a diversified career history may contribute to the flavor of my paintings. Much of my work is figurative, playful, colorful, and expressive. As is evident in my portfolio, the female form provides endless opportunities to create beautiful and exotic canvasses. My landscape art inspired from times spent living in Florida, under sunny skies, blue seas, and lush foliage. My portfolio contains paintings of small European towns, influenced by photos and travel stories shared by friends and family.

I reside in  Cream Ridge, New Jersey, with my wife, Janet. Aside from painting, my other passions include golfing, playing the piano, cooking, and time spent with my family and grandchildren.

I paint when the “images” appear in the kaleidoscope of my mind,  which is often and necessary.
